Vibrasto 10 and 20

"Stretch and glue" acoustic coverings

Vibrasto 10 and 20 are “stretch and glue” acoustic coverings made from an outer layer of Aeria textile laminated onto a 10 or 20 mm thick layer of sound absorbing foam. Not only do they offer exceptional sound absorption, but are also sufficiently flexible to be fitted round the most delicate curve or angle.

Specifications for Vibrasto 10

For walls and ceilings, we recommend our flame retardant, non-dripping Vibrasto 10 (width 1 500 mm), comprising an outer layer of sound transparent Aeria laminated onto SI foam which is 10 mm thick. Its absorption coefficient ɑw on concrete is 0.25 (H). Total thickness is 12 mm.

For ceilings, French fire safety regulations allow for 25% of the total surface area to be covered with Vibrasto 20.

This commonly used system provides extra sound absorption for low frequencies.

Fitting Methods

Vibrasto does not hide hollows, bumps or other surface irregularities. Before fitting the product, all surfaces must be perfectly smooth, clean, air-tight and suitably prepared so that a flexible cover may be glued into position. Low-angled lighting should be avoided.

Joins
Joins between adjacent lengths of Vibrasto 10 or 20 are pencil line joins. The overhanging edges of the Aeria fabric are inserted into U-section battens running the length of the seam. Centre-to-centre distance: 1 500 mm.

Surrounds of openings (doors and windows)
Doors and windows should be framed either with beading or mouldings which are at least 2 mm thicker than the Vibrasto, or any other finishing system of the architect’s choice.

Rims and edges (optional)
Visible rims and edges may be finished with battens, available in anodised aluminium or white lacquer.

Outside 90° corner
The covering can be curved to fit the angle perfectly. Pressing the covering
down firmly on both sides of the corner ensures satisfactory bonding.

Inside 90° corner
One strip of covering is butted against the corner. The next strip is butted against the face of the previous strip.

Skirting
Skirting boards should be fitted on blocks so that their thickness equals that of the Vibrasto.

Butted edges
The Vibrasto should be butted cleanly against the ceiling or walls.

Electrical fittings
Plug sockets and switches should be raised on blocks so that they stand
proud from the surface by 10 mm for Vibrasto 10 and 20 mm for Vibrasto 20.

Layout plan
Different batches of fabric in the same colour may show very slight variations in shade; it is therefore imperative to respect the layout plan designed for each surface.

Packaging
The length of a strip of Vibrasto 10 strip cannot exceed 12.50 m in length.
The length of a strip of Vibrasto 20 strip cannot exceed 6.80 m in length.
